What are School Streets?
A School Street is a road outside a school with a temporary restriction on motorised traffic at school drop-off and pick-up times. The restriction applies to school traffic and through traffic. The result is a safer, healthier and pleasant environment for everyone.
School Street schemes offer a proactive solution for school communities to tackle air pollution, poor health and road danger reduction.
Why is this happening at Bramble Infant School & Nursery?
Staff and Governors at Bramble Infant School & Nursery have agreed to work in collaboration with 'Sustrans' and 'Portsmouth City Council' to trial a School Street scheme as we believe that it will create a healthier and safer environment around our school and nursery. This will directly benefit our children and the wider community as well as being an exciting learning opportunity.

Pompey Monsters Walk to School Challenge
During our School Street trial we are encouraging all parents and children to take part in the Pompey Monsters Walk to School Challenge. See the poster and video below for more information.
To have a safe journey to school please remember that private e-scooters are illegal. It is illegal to ride a rental e-scooter with more than one person on it and they can only be rented by people over 18.
