Safeguarding

At Bramble Infant School and Nursery we aim to ensure that all children are protected from harm and have their welfare and pastoral needs met so they are able to fulfil their potential. We have policies, systems and procedures in place to make sure that this happens. Please see our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy for more information about how we do this.

Safeguarding in the Curriculum

Teaching children how to keep themselves safe, in an age appropriate way, is a key part of our curriculum. We regularly talk to the children about how they can do this and who they can get help from. The children in our School Council worked together to produce a ‘Keeping Safe’ poster to display around the school to inform everyone what to do to keep themselves safe.

Online Safety Information

Below are some useful links for parents and carers to help you understand how to keep your child safe online when they are at home.

Think U Know – E-safety advice and resources for parents and children aged 4-7 years old.

Internet Matters – Advice and support for parents about how to keep children safe online. This site includes tips on how to set up parental controls on a wide range of devices and entertainment services.

Cyberbullying – Information from the Anti-Bullying Alliance for parents about cyberbullying.

In school we have developed an 'Online Safety Charter' with the children so that they can develop their understanding of how to keep themselves safe. It is displayed in all the school classrooms and regularly revisited in lessons.
